Description

Kayaput essential oil (Melaleuca Leucadendra) is extracted from young cajuput stalks or freshly cut leaves: their freshness is proportional to the level of quality of the oil. The extraction method is steam distillation. The yield of the finished product is quite high - 1.5%. The oil turns out to be liquid and flowing, transparent with a greenish tint, with a multi-layered and multifaceted aroma with notes of camphor, eucalyptus, menthol, pine needles and citrus fruits. Kayaput is an evergreen tree of the myrtle family, known as "white" or "silver", a "cousin" of eucalyptus. It grows in Australia and Indonesia. In the Philippines and Australia, Kayaput is grown in whole plantations - especially for the production of essential oil.
