Description
The surfaceCONTROL 2500 measuring system is used for defect detection on diffusely reflecting surfaces. In combination with robots, the surfaceCONTROL 2500 is used for fully automatic defect detection on body shells. This system works according to the method of fringe light projection. By means of a learning process, local form defects such as bumps, dents, etc. are reliably detected, while permissible deviations are tolerated. The surfaceCONTROL systems consist of sensor, robot, computer and software and interface package. Different versions of the system are available, which are configured according to customer-specific requirements. The number of reflectCONTROL sensors and robots required can be flexibly adapted to the required throughput.

The RTP 8301.CT is based on laser triangulation sensors and therefore ensures the measurement being independently from material constants. The system is designed as O-frame, both sensors detect the thickness according to the differential method. The SGS (Spindle Growth System) 4701 displacement measuring system is developed for high speed milling machine applications. Due to high machining speeds and the heat generated, the linear thermal expansion of the precision machine tool spindle needs to be compensated for in order to keep the tool in a defined position at all times. The SGS sensor measures the expansion of the spindle caused by thermal and centrifugal force. The measurement takes places typically on the labyrinth-ring. As well as the linear expansion, the temperature of the sensor is detected and output.These measurement values are fed into the CNC machine tool as correction values, compensating for any positioning errors.
