Magtrol's motorized 4-quadrant power test stands offer enhanced testing flexibility compared to a typical brake test stand. By bringing the motor under test (MUT) to synchronous speed before starting a test, repeatability is improved. Since the motor windings reach ambient temperature before the start of a ramp test, the wattage is more consistent. Custom software is required to meet the specific needs of each individual customer application. As the TM series torque transducers from Magtrol are placed between the power brake motor and the MUT, we are able to measure the friction and air resistance of the MUT.
