The SAE J1939 standard (Serial Control and Communications Heavy Duity Vehicle Network) has originally been designed by SAE International to be used in heavy duty vehicles. In the meantime, the protocol is widely used also in agricultural machinery, rail vehicles and sea vessels and in a wide range of diesel-driven machinery. Target group J1939 training The target group of the J1939 intensive workshop is development engineers who are looking for a quick start into handling the communications profile or would like to get an insight into the J1939 protocol stack. Also, we address decision makers and product managers to enable them to assess the suitability of the J1939 protocol stack for their applications.

The µCAN.4.sg-F1 is the universal measurement module for the acquisition of analogue standard signals. The module is equipped to measure strain gauge full brigde signals in four-wire technology at an adjustable sample rate of up to 1 kHz per input (4 kHz overall sample rate). The bridge is excited directly from the module with a ratiometric measurement.4-wire technology Strain gauge full bridge, R > 350 Ohm Strain gauge excitation 4.096V / ratiometric Sample rate max. 1 kHz per input CAN 2.0A and CAN 2.0B / RawCAN free software configuration tool IP65-rated aluminium casing bi-colour LED for error indication Operating temperature -40°C to +85°C Fieldbus CAN Protocol Raw CAN

The J1939 protocol stack offers the complete functionality for integration of the SAE J1939 standard into your devices. Versatile configuration options facilitate individual customization to a target product. Example codes facilitate the startup phase, enabling the user to focus on the implementation of their own application. The open CAN driver (CANpie) provides the flexibility to use any CAN controller available on the market. The bridge function to the CANopen Slave protocol stack facilitates realization of devices with multi protocol capability. In addition, less development time is needed for the implementation of parameters as these are addressed by all protocols in the same way.
